SA20 2025: Schedule, Dates, Venues, Where to Watch

SA20 is starting its third season, and many eyes are waiting to see how the tournament will fare. The tournament will be played between six teams including Sunrisers Eastern Cape, MI Cape Town, Paarl Royals, Durban Giants, Pretoria Capitals, and Joburg Super Kings. As the names show, all six teams are owned by IPL-based franchises. The opening match will be played between MI Cape Town and Sunrisers Eastern Cape, who also happen to be the side that has won two of the two SA20 seasons played so far.

Each side will play two fixtures against each other in the SA20 group stages, before the top four progress to the knockout stages. There will be five double headers and all six sides will get to play five home, and as many away fixtures. 

The first knockout game, or the 1st Qualifier, will be played between the first and second teams on the table after the final group stage game. Whoever wins will steer straight to the final. The losing side, however, will get another chance to reserve a place in the final by playing the winner of the second knockout game, the Eliminator. The Eliminator will be played between the third and fourth teams on the table, and whoever loses will be eliminated. The winner of the Eliminator and the loser of the 1st Qualifier will face each other in the 2nd Qualifier to fight for a place in the final.
